NYPD: Woman found dead in her New York home showed signs of back injury

QUEENS, NY (PIX11) — A woman was found dead in a home in Little Neck, Queens, Saturday morning, police said.

Officers from the 111th Precinct responded to a 911 call to help an unconscious woman who was found inside the building at 251-22 58 Avenue at 8:59 p.m., police said.


When officers arrived, they found a 44-year-old woman unconscious and unresponsive, lying face down on the ground. The woman had visible injuries to her back. Emergency medical services were called to assist officers, but the woman, identified as Kate Tierney, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Further details were not readily available.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing, police officials said.
