Protests in Chicago today: Police report 11 pro-Palestinian protesters arrested for blocking road on Franklin Street in the Loop

CHICAGO (WLS) — A group of pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested in downtown Chicago on Saturday afternoon.

At least 11 protesters were arrested after blocking a road on Franklin Street between Monroe Street and Arcade Place in the Loop at around 2:41 p.m., Chicago police said.

Chicago police shared images of the protest in social media tweet posts on X.

Chicago police said their officers had been in contact with the protesters and asked them to leave the street before any arrests were made.

Further information on what charges the individuals in question face was not immediately available.
