Mail scattered in the neighborhood triggers police investigation

EAST PEORIA, Ill. – East Peoria police are investigating a suspected mail theft.

Police received a complaint about mail scattered in an area of ​​Crestlawn Drive in Sunnyland at around 5:24 a.m. Saturday.

During the course of the investigation, officers discovered that one or more suspects had searched several mailboxes in Sunnyland overnight.

The investigation is ongoing.
