Dangerous heat continues to dominate the forecast

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – First Alert Weather Days are in effect today through Tuesday. Dangerous heat continues with highs around 95 degrees and triple-digit heat index values.

Sunday will be another very hot day, with highs in the 90s and 100s. Heat index readings will again feel like just above 100 degrees. A front moving in from the north could bring scattered showers and thunderstorms. Rain chances are at 30% in Nashville, but are slightly higher east of I-65.

NEXT WEEK

The intense heat and humidity will continue into early next week. Monday and Tuesday will be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the 35s, but the humidity will make it feel like 38s all afternoon.

Wednesday will be a little cooler, with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Be sure to take an umbrella with you. Any rain will cool our highs back down to below 30 degrees.

Thursday is expected to be another slightly cooler day with maximum temperatures around 35 degrees. Partly cloudy skies are expected. An isolated shower or storm cannot be ruled out.

Temperatures will rise again on Friday and Saturday. Highs on both days will be between 35 and 40 degrees. A mix of sun and clouds is expected. The chance of rain in Nashville is 20%.
