Settlers Cabin wave pool closed due to “contamination incident”

ALL GOOD. THANKS, MIKE. AND speaking of the weekend, we know many of you have plans and that you’ll probably be outdoors. But you’re going to need to take a break from the air conditioning and fans this week because it’s hot, right? Even hotter today, if you can imagine. And there’s still going to be a lot of humidity and heat as we run through the weekend. You can almost see the steam factor here. This morning I already had the hazy component of a hazy, hot and humid day here in Pittsburgh. It started at 24 degrees. SO YES, TEMPERATURES DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY DURING THE NIGHT HOURS. THAT ADDS TO THE STRESS OF THIS HEAT WAVE. EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING. THE HEAT WARNING STILL IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE REGION. AREAS CLOSER TO PITTSBURGH ARE ESPECIALLY CONCERNED BECAUSE TEMPERATURES ARE EVEN MORE INTENSE. FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON. ALL OF THESE HEAT WARNINGS WILL EXPIRE LATER TONIGHT, BUT IN THE MEANTIME IT WILL STILL FEEL LIKE TEMPERATURES WILL RISE QUICKLY INTO THE 90S AND STAY THERE ALL AFTERNOON. It could feel between 35 and 37 degrees by Saturday. Things will change. Of course they must. We’ve had a lot of heat and humidity here over the last week. A cold front is coming tomorrow and that brings the potential for some. Severe thunderstorms will be more isolated. Heavy rain, as you can imagine, will be a big problem along with some damaging winds. The tornado threat is low, but not zero tomorrow, and especially from Allegheny County heading north, we could see a few more of these thunderstorms over the course of our work day. In the meantime, anything that’s rising today is just due to the heat of the day, so we could most likely see a few tiny thunderstorms pop up in the afternoon. They’ll be rather brief and then kind of rain themselves out. When we wake up tomorrow, there will be a few clouds. AND AS WE WORK THROUGH YOUR SUNDAY, THE CLOUDS WILL TAKE OVER AND FINALLY SOME SMALL SHOWERS WILL SHOW UP NEAR I-80 AROUND NOON. THEN, AS THE COLD FRONT APPROACHES, OUR THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WILL INCREASE AGAIN INTO THE AFTERNOON. DROPS, GUSTY WINDS. THOSE ARE THE MAIN CONCERNS. WE’LL SEE ONE LAST PUSH JUST BEFORE SUNSET. THAT’LL BE WITH THE COLD FRONT, AND EVERYTHING WILL THEN FIRE AS WE APPROACH THE NIGHT HOURS, AND BEHIND THAT FRONT WE’LL SEE A DROP IN HUMIDITY, AND THE HEAT WILL ALSO REDUCE BY THE EARLY EARLY NEXT WEEK. HIGHEST TEMPERATURE TODAY 96. BUT OF COURSE VERY HUMID, SO TEMPERATURES WILL STILL BE IN THE 90S. WE’LL MAKE IT A WARM DAY. SUNSHINE WILL SOFTEN A FEW CLOUDS. AND THE LIKELIHOOD OF A STORM HAPPENING, A WARM, SLIGHTLY DULL FEEL AGAIN TONIGHT. JUST BELOW 75 DARK. PARTLY CLOUDY TOMORROW. A WARM DAY WILL STILL BE HOT AND HUMID BUT IT’S MORE OF A HAZARD FOR THOSE AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS. HUMIDITY WILL EASE MONDAY THROUGHOUT THE DAY. 85 WILL BE NICE TO TAKE A TRIP OUT OF THE 90S BUT IT WILL BE SHORT. Temperatures will be back near 90 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday, making for an impactful day for more weather. Thunderstorms will be heading our way behind that, looks like slightly longer, more sustained stretches and slightly more bearable temperatures. Of course, this month of June is coming to an end. Highs next weekend will be in the 80s to 29s with temperatures reaching 100 degrees.
