City of Atlanta opens cooling center as temperatures rise – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — As summer approaches in the South and it gets hotter, the city of Atlanta is opening a cooling center.

The center will be located at the Selena Butler Park and Recreation Center on William Holmes Borders Drive SE, according to the mayor’s office.

It will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.

Ashley Kramlich, Team 2 Severe Weather Meteorologist says temperatures will rise into the upper 90s over the weekend and remain high through early next week.
