3-year-old boy killed, sister injured in Buffalo shooting

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. during an outdoor gathering, Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said in a statement.

Both children were taken to the hospital, DeGeorge said. The boy was pronounced dead at Erie County Medical Center. Her sister was hit by gunfire and is being treated at Oishei Children’s Hospital.

Police will provide an update on their investigation into the shooting later today.
