Arizona man arrested near Cedar City possessed over 500 THC vaping cartridges, UHP says – St George News

Cedar City – Translation for “Cedar City” in German An Arizona man arrested after a traffic stop in Iron County had 580 THC vaping cartridges in his vehicle, police said.

According to court documents, the incident began at approximately 3:30 a.m. on June 13 when a Utah Highway Patrol officer observed a vehicle that appeared to be speeding while traveling north on Interstate 15.

“With my forward-facing radar, I was able to confirm thatthat the vehicle was traveling at 86 miles per hour in a posted 80 mph zone,” the officer wrote in a probable cause statement for the driver’s arrest.

The officer also reported that he saw the driver change lanes improperly and noticed that one of the vehicle’s brake lights was not working.

The officer then turned on his hazard lights, and the driver exited I-15 at Exit 51 (Hamilton Fort) and drove a short distance to Old Highway 91 before stopping.

After talking to the driver, the police officer said became suspicious and called another officer and his K-9 partner to respond. According to the affidavit, the K-9 officer sniffed around the vehicle and indicated the smell of narcotics.

“We searched the vehicle and found 580 THC cartridges in the boxes in the back,” the police officer wrote, adding: “During the search, the The driver was standing next to a garbage container. We heard him drop something into the container. When I got into the “I found a bottle of cocaine in the dumpster. I tested the substance in the bottle and it tested positive for cocaine.”

Jomar Alexander Moreno, 33, was then taken into custody and transported to the Iron County Jail. He was released that same afternoon after posting $1,250 bail and promising to appear in court before 5th District Judge Matthew L. Bell at 9 a.m. on July 1.

Moreno faces several charges, including possession of a controlled substance with intent to resell, a second-degree felony in this case because he has a previous drug trafficking conviction.

He is also charged with offenses related to drug possession and drug paraphernalia and obstruction of justice. He is also charged with three traffic violations, which are classified as misdemeanors.
