WATCH: CM Punk spotted leaving arena in car despite dramatic ambulance incident on WWE SmackDown

The rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre has reached a fever pitch, especially after Clash at the Castle. Although Drew McIntyre announced during his promo on WWE Raw that he was leaving WWE, he made his presence felt on SmackDown at Chicago’s Allstate Arena. And he was back with a vengeance.

To get revenge on Punk, McIntyre brutally attacked him backstage and left his lifeless body to be taken away in an ambulance. However, WWE could not further protect kayfabe as fans witnessed Punk driving home in his car.

CM Punk is spotted leaving the arena after an ambulance angle on SmackDown

On the last edition of SmackDown, CM Punk teamed up with the new Bloodline. After fending off Solo Sikoa and company with some help from Cody Rhodes, Punk left the ring safely, but was attacked backstage by Drew McIntyre.

McIntyre, who is presumably no longer with WWE, stood over Punk’s bloodied body. He then lifted Punk up in a fireman’s hold and brought him to the ramp in the gorilla position, where he finally dropped him roughly.

Shortly afterward, Punk received assistance from medical personnel and was wheeled into an ambulance to leave the arena. However, the Second City Saint was presumably seen leaving the arena safely in his car after the show.

Still, due to the constant stream of real-time updates via social media, it is very difficult to protect kayfabe in the digital age. Based on the current storyline, WWE wanted fans to believe that Punk was really injured. As a result, his return to the ring would be delayed. But now fans know better.

Anyway, we will have to wait and see when CM Punk appears next. Maybe we will have to wait until SummerSlam to finally see Drew McIntyre and CM Punk face off in the ring.

Drew McIntyre is now even with CM Punk

While the rivalry between Punk and McIntyre is far from over, at Clash at the Castle, Drew McIntyre was finally able to get revenge on Punk for the humiliation he suffered in his home country of Scotland.

Defeating Punk in his hometown in front of the Chicago crowd gave Drew McIntyre a sense of satisfaction. The former World Champion had won the match at Clash at the Castle, but Punk’s trickery proved to be a major disappointment for McIntyre.

It remains to be seen how this story will unfold, as McIntyre and Punk have nothing but anger for each other at this point.
