State police investigate fatal accident in York County

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred overnight in York County.

Emergency crews were called to Barrens Road South in Hopewell Township around 6 p.m. due to the reported accident.


The Eureka Volunteer Fire Department reports that a vehicle crashed into a wooded area.

A rescue helicopter was placed on standby as a precaution. The fire department said the driver was “obviously dead” and the York County Coroner was called.

They said the accident occurred at least the night before and was only discovered when two people found debris in a neighboring yard. Trees obscured the accident site.
