Man arrested after attempted sexual contact with child

A 58-year-old man was arrested after attempting to meet a seven-year-old girl for sexual acts.

Kurt Anderssen, from Amesbury, Wiltshire, was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison after being found guilty of several crimes.

A jury at Winchester Crown Court found Anderssen guilty of three counts of organising/facilitating the commission of a sexual offence against children, encouraging/inciting the distribution of indecent images of children and two counts of producing indecent images of children.

The court was told that Anderssen had a conversation on social media with a person to whom he offered money so that he could meet their seven-year-old daughter for sexual purposes.

A meeting was agreed upon, but Anderssen cancelled it because he was not sure whether the agreement was genuine.

Anderssen was arrested by officers from Wiltshire Police at his home address on Thursday 9 December 2021.

Several electronic devices were seized and evidence was found of searches for child sexual abuse material terms and downloading files with child abuse-related titles.
