Drug investigations lead to four arrests and the rescue of a fawn

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of four people Friday morning in connection with a drug investigation in Belton, Missouri. However, while searching the home, officers made a rather strange discovery.

According to police, officers from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Unit executed a search warrant on a home near Hamilton Lane and West South Avenue around 11 a.m. Friday.


During the investigation, officers seized several items, including suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and money.

The more shocking discovery, however, may have been a live fawn in the house.

The fawn was found inside, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and was later recovered by the Missouri Department of Conservation after the investigation was completed.

Police said two people were arrested on warrants: 39-year-old Christopher McGolgin and 42-year-old Hannah Graham, both of Belton.

McGolgin was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon. Bail for both charges is $4,000 and both warrants were issued from Cass County.

Graham is charged in the state of Kansas with violating probation without bail.

In addition to the two arrests, another man and woman were taken into custody pending felony charges.

All four suspects are being held in the Cass County Jail.

The identities of the other two suspects have not been released and no details have been released about the fawn’s health and safety, but stay tuned to FOX4 for the latest updates and information on this developing story.
