Russia launches ‘massive attack’ on energy facilities in Ukraine – POLITICO

Ukrainian energy facilities were subjected to a “massive attack” from Russia overnight, the Ukrainian Energy Ministry said on Saturday. This is the eighth time in the last three months that Russia has launched an attack on energy infrastructure.

“The situation in the energy sector remains difficult,” the ministry said in a statement. Consumers will be cut off from electricity every hour. Two workers were injured and hospitalized as a result of shelling at one of the plants, it said.

According to the ministry, this was the second attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure this week.
