Maharashtra: Man marries and rapes 17-year-old niece; case filed

Police in Thane, Maharashtra, have registered a case against a 23-year-old man from Jalna for marrying his minor niece two years ago. The girl, now 17 and pregnant, filed a complaint. The FIR, based on the POCSO Act and the Child Marriage Prohibition Act, also incriminates his brother and the victim’s father.
