Corning man arrested in child pornography case

Authorities say a Corning man was arrested after a months-long child pornography investigation in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes region.

Kevin C. Pilon, 59, of Corning, was arrested on child pornography charges on June 14 following a lengthy investigation by the New York State Police.

Pilon is charged with promoting sexual conduct with a child (Felony D) and possessing sexual conduct with a child (Felony E). The arrest was made following a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A search of Pilon’s home found a large amount of child sexual abuse material on his computer.

Pilon’s case was handled at SP Painted Post and he is currently being held at the Steuben County Jail awaiting arraignment.
