First warning for possible storms on Thursday | Weather

DELMARVA We’ll experience near-record warmth through the afternoon, with temperatures rising into the mid to upper 80s. We’re going to get close to a record at Georgetown. The current record high is 90 degrees, set in 2000, with a forecast high of around 88 degrees. Skies will be mostly cloudy to partly cloudy through the afternoon, with a cooler 70° on the beaches.

Overnight we will see variable clouds and mild conditions with lows in the lower to mid 60s. Feel warmer in the humid conditions. Light SW winds are expected.

A Code Red has been issued for Thursday due to the risk of hail and damaging winds, as a stronger front would trigger showers and thunderstorms. Make sure outdoor items are secured or brought indoors to avoid damaging wind. High temperatures will occur in the late morning or early afternoon, then falling into the 60s and then the 50s. On Thursday evening the rain will end with partial clearing, low temperatures will be around 50 degrees.

Friday will be cooler, but there is still a chance of a few showers. Highs will not be until the mid 60s. Rain showers will end Friday evening and low temperatures will be in the upper 40s to near 50s.

The weekend looks 50/50, with dry and cool weather on Saturday followed by showers on Sunday. Highs in the 60s and lows around 50 Sunday morning.
