Extreme heat continues, possible rain in northern Arizona

PHOENIX (AZFamily)—The morning started warm again with lows of 92 degrees, 12 degrees above our average. This afternoon, highs will be around 114 degrees, 8 degrees above average. Because of the heat, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory until 8 p.m. tonight.

Dew points are rising, and you’ll feel the humidity today and all weekend. This moisture will favor thunderstorms, especially along the edge and in eastern Arizona. There’s also a slight chance of thunderstorms here in the valley through Monday.

The high pressure system over the region will strengthen by the middle of next week. During this time, the skies will clear up and temperatures will rise again.
