Gordon Ramsay ‘on the mend’ after bicycle accident – Film News | Film-News.co.uk

Gordon Ramsay has confirmed he is “on the road to recovery” after a cycling accident which left him with horrific bruising.

The famous chef fell off his bike while cycling in Connecticut just over a week ago.

After the incident, he posted a video on social media showing massive bruising on his stomach, waist and ribs.

“I’m glad to be here,” he said at the time. “Honestly, you have to wear a helmet. I don’t care how short the ride is. Even with kids, even if it’s just a short ride, they have to wear a helmet.”

His most recent Instagram post showed a video of his five-year-old son, Oscar, riding his bike, wearing a helmet and saying, “Daddy, this is for you.”

In the video, his wife Tana can be heard saying: “New helmet, Dad, more protection.”

Gordon captioned the post, “The purple potato is on the mend!! Thanks everyone for the great news Gx.”

The 57-year-old Hell’s Kitchen star previously revealed that he started cycling in 2018 because he feared his increasing weight could cost him his marriage.

“Tana wasn’t impressed with how I looked,” he said. “I was overweight, 280 pounds. I looked like a sack of shit. I look at the pictures and think, ‘How did Tana hold on?’ Because Tana looks better and is more beautiful. And there she is, going to bed with a fat ass. It was painful. I kept looking at myself in the mirror and thinking, ‘Holy shit!’ So that was a big wake-up call.”
