Buffalo Police: 2 children shot and taken to hospital

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Two children were shot Friday night, prompting Buffalo police to close a street as they searched for a suspect.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday in the first block of Domedion Avenue, south of Genesee Street. Officers from the Ferry-Fillmore District responded to the scene.

The children were shot during an outdoor gathering, police said Friday evening. They were taken to local hospitals and one of them was seriously injured, a police spokesperson said.
