1 dead in traffic accident on the CO 83 on Friday evening

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KKTV) – CDOT reported a fatal crash that closed Highway 83 in both directions two miles north of Black Forest.

The Colorado State Patrol reported an accident between a Jeep and a semi-trailer truck on Friday evening around 6:30 p.m. The driver of the Jeep is said to have died. The driver of the semi-trailer truck was uninjured.

The accident occurred near Highway 83 and Arfsten, but as of 7 p.m. Highway 83 was closed in both directions between Lake Gulch and County Line.

The Colorado State Patrol has not provided any information on when it plans to reopen Highway 83.
