Lured and raped, 13-year-old girl dies, suspected suicide; FIR says accused met her online | Delhi News

According to police, the hotel allowed the accused to bring a minor without establishing her identity. The hotel’s video surveillance recordings were seized.

On the complaint of the girl’s father, an FIR was registered under sections 363 of the Indian Penal Code (kidnapping), 376 (3) (rape of a woman below 16 years of age), 506 (criminal intimidation) and sections 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act, which deal with penetrative sexual abuse.

In his complaint, the father said that on the night of the incident, the girl remained calm after she came home. She later told her parents that the accused, who met her through a social media platform, had texted her.

He took her to a place where he raped her and threatened to kill her if she told about her ordeal, the father said in his complaint.

The family claims that the girl was drugged and then raped. When the father came to know about her ordeal, he confronted the accused’s family, who he said wanted to settle the matter without reporting the incident to the police. However, he decided to file the complaint and took his daughter and wife to the police station on Tuesday.

The girl was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a room of her house on Wednesday evening.
