First warning for hurricane season | ABC11 weather team with important information on hurricanes and impacts in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA (WTVD) — The ABC11 First Alert Weather Team presents a special program called “First Alert for Hurricane Season” this weekend.

The Atlantic hurricane season began on June 1, and the tropics are already in full swing. The first named storm of the season, Alberto, made landfall near Tampico, Mexico, on Thursday. Authorities said three people were killed, including two children linked to the storm.
