LATEST FORECAST

Here’s WAVE News Chief Meteorologist Kevin Harned with your forecast.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Thunderstorms will disappear from radar tonight, leaving us with a few clouds and muggy air. Stagnant air and wet ground will encourage the development of fog until early Tuesday morning as temperatures drop into the upper 60s.

Tuesday is a WAVE WARNING DAY, as strong to severe storms can develop as early as midday. Damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes are possible through midnight, making radar monitoring a long day.

Once the severe storms move out of our counties around midnight Tuesday evening, we will see another round of fog Wednesday morning. As this time begins, temperatures will be back in the muggy 60s.

Wednesday is another ALARM DAY, and this time the threat of severe weather appears to be even greater. There is a significant risk of widespread damaging winds, very large hail, and isolated tornadoes between 2:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. ET.

Please check back for updates.

There will likely be a few more showers behind the cold front early Thursday morning, but the week’s severe weather will be over by that time.

Further isolated to scattered showers are possible each day Friday through Sunday until the cooler air aloft finally moves out next week. The clouds, showers and cool air aloft will keep highs in the 60s and lower 70s during this time until we rebound significantly back into the 70s next work week.
