Driver killed in wrong-way head-on crash in Wasatch County

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah – One person was killed late Thursday night when a pickup truck drove into oncoming traffic in Wasatch County and shortly thereafter collided with another truck.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a black Ford F150 was traveling westbound on State Road 40 near mile marker 24 when it crossed into oncoming traffic to pass another vehicle.

Instead of returning to the lane after the pass, the F150 continued into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a silver Dodge Ram that was pulling a pickup truck while traveling in the opposite direction.

The 39-year-old driver of the F150 was killed in the accident, while the driver and passenger of the Dodge were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After the accident, roads in the area were closed for almost four hours.
