Motorcyclist killed in accident on Highway 29 in Napa County

NAPA COUNTY, CA (June 21, 2024) — A man died in a motorcycle crash on Highway 29 near Highway 128 on Thursday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle crash occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m. As a 41-year-old Napa man attempted to pass other vehicles by crossing the solid double yellow lines on the road, his northbound 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle collided head-on with a 2010 Mercedes sedan.

Paramedics then arrived at the scene of the accident north of the Robert Mondavi Winery and found the motorcyclist. Although he was wearing a helmet, he suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The Mercedes-Benz driver, described as a 30-year-old man from San Francisco, was uninjured.

Authorities are withholding the victim’s name pending family notification, but once family members are aware, the Napa County Sheriff’s Corner Office will release his name.
