The 54-year-old paedophile from Ilford raped a nine-year-old girl seven times during his six-month reign of terror

An East London paedophile who raped a nine-year-old girl seven times during a six-month reign of terror has been jailed. Monsor Kazi was sentenced to 13.5 years in prison at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday 14 June after being found guilty at the same court of seven counts of rape and assault on the young victim.

The girl’s father reported the abuse to the Metropolitan Police, and local officers responded immediately. That same day, specially trained officers tracked down, arrested and questioned the 54-year-old from Hickling Road in Ilford. Kazi was later charged.

Officers seized various items from a property for forensic analysis, including clothing and bedding, and recorded statements from the victim and key witnesses. The court concluded that the child’s sexual abuse had lasted for about six months. Kazi initially denied the allegations but was convicted based on the evidence collected by police.

Detective Constable Chloe James, who led the investigation at Romford police station, said: “We are extremely grateful to the victim for her courage in speaking out about the abuse she suffered at the hands of Kazi and to the witnesses who have come forward to assist this investigation.”

“Thanks to her tireless work with prosecutors to build a case against Kazi, he will now spend years behind bars. Upon his release, he will be required to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.”
