A high rip current risk is again reported for the beaches of Grand Strand

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The threat of high surf rip currents remains on beaches along the Grand Strand Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a risk of life-threatening surf rip currents, so it is best to avoid the water and follow the advice of local beach patrol and flag warning systems.

The agency also said Friday is expected to be the last day of high rip current danger.

WMBF News Chief Meteorologist Jamie Arnold advises: If you go swimming, make sure there are lifeguards nearby.
