2 dead in apartment fire in crowded apartment in New Rochelle, Westchester County

NEW ROCHELLE, Westchester County (WABC) – Two people died in an apartment fire in New Rochelle on Friday.

Shortly after 7 a.m., a fire broke out in an apartment on Eastchester Road.

The people were pulled out of the apartment with cardiac arrest and subsequently pronounced dead.

The fire department assumes that the victims died in an overcrowded apartment.
