North Kingstown police make arrest after fatal bicycle accident

(WJAR) — North Kingstown police said one person was killed in a bicycle accident Thursday evening.

According to police, an accident occurred between a cyclist and a car on Boston Neck Road in the area of ​​Earle Drive.

“Sadly, the cyclist was killed in the accident,” North Kingstown police said in a statement.

North Kingstown police said they arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Local residents said the road was known for speeding.

Jeffery Souza said he has witnessed at least four accidents this month alone and is not surprised that alcohol was probably involved.

The crash is currently being investigated.
