Chicago shooting: Police report 2 dead in shooting near 31st Street Beach

CHICAGO (WLS) — Two people were killed in a shooting near 31st Street Beach on Friday morning, Chicago police said.

The incident occurred after two women were shot, one fatally, near the beach on Wednesday evening.

Police said that around 3:19 a.m., a 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were found dead in a vehicle at 3155 South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Both victims suffered numerous gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

According to investigators, there was an exchange of gunfire at the scene between the man and several people, several of whom are in custody.
