Ric Flair on the Piesanos incident – “I wasn’t drunk – just had Michelob Ultras and a few mixed drinks!”

As we reported here on eWn, Ric Flair was involved in an incident at a Piesanos restaurant in Florida over the weekend.

According to the WWE Hall of Famer, he was asked to leave due to a disagreement with the kitchen manager, whom he accused of spending long periods of time in the bathroom. Co-owner Jerry Roberts confirmed the decision to ask Flair to leave before a video of the incident surfaced on TikTok, showing Flair in a verbal altercation and denying any wrongdoing.

This morning Flair spoke with us The Gainesville Sun in an attempt to clarify his side of the story. The Nature Boy said when he went to the toilet he was approached by a member of staff. The employee was using the stand and could be seen in the cracks “sending a text message.” Flair explained:

“I don’t think I shake hands or take photos in the bathroom. Every man who goes into the bathroom knows that you can see into the toilet. I said, “Get off your ass, I have to go to the bathroom.”

After he left the booth, Flair claimed a female employee called him a “creep” and a “peeper.”

Flair added, “I won’t tolerate that and neither will you,” he said of the employee’s comments. “…That’s a pretty insulting comment. I’ll be honest, I was angry because I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s my word against the kitchen staff and it doesn’t make any sense. I admit everything I said. I don’t have a problem with it because I was angry. I have the money to buy the restaurant. It will be called Ric Flair’s Italian Bistro.”

Flair was asked to leave after he insulted the staff and tried to give a bartender a $1,000 tip. Piesonas co-owner Jerry Roberts claimed they refused Flair’s tips and instead the ownership team paid the employees out of their own pocket.

Roberts added: “It was really a matter of principle about how our team was treated, and no matter how much money someone was willing to spend, if they didn’t treat our team with respect, we just felt like it was the right thing to do.”

TO UPDATE: Ric Flair appeared on “The MJ Morning Show” on Q105 earlier today and elaborated on the incident.

While Flair admits he shouldn’t have gotten angry, he felt he had to stand up for himself. Flair also claims he wasn’t drunk and “There were only Michelob Ultras and ‘probably’ two mixed drinks.” The Nature Boy further said that after the incident, he ended up ordering food from the same place via Uber Eats.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

About the exploding confrontation: “It just escalated and I was wrong to get angry, but I kind of felt like I was defending my position.”

On standing up for yourself: “I was wrong because I lost my temper. When I feel like I’m in a situation where I’m uncomfortable and suddenly everything falls apart, I feel angry. I was wrong because I got excited. I probably should have just walked out the door but it surprised me so much because we had a wonderful time. Then suddenly…someone in the kitchen said I did something wrong in the bathroom and there’s no one there except him and me.”
