A man found dead on a Lubbock street was shot, police said

LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock police said Wednesday afternoon that a man found dead near North Loop 289 and Interstate 27 was actually shot and not injured in a hit-and-run accident.

The first officers were called at 3:25 a.m. According to LPD, initial reports indicated a hit-and-run accident. According to LPD, investigators concluded the victim’s injuries were “suspicious.”

Police said the Metro Special Crimes Unit responded and determined the victim had been shot. According to LPD, the victim was identified as a 32-year-old Davila infant named “Adrian Davila.”
