The shooting occurred on June 15 around 9 p.m. Officers responded to reports of a four-vehicle crash at the intersection of Craig Road and North 5th Street.

Witnesses told police that a male driver, later identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as Julian McCoy, 57, of Las Vegas, was traveling north on North 5th Street in a silver car when he failed to stop at a red light and struck vehicles on Craig Road.

Witnesses at the scene said that McCoy, who police said had five previous convictions in Nevada, threatened people, emergency workers and police officers at the scene of the accident with a loaded weapon.
