The weather advisory remains in effect due to the threat of severe storms in North Texas

NORTH TEXAS – Severe storms are possible on Wednesday and Thursday.

If you went outside on Wednesday, you know it felt like summer. We set the afternoon temperature record of 95 degrees! The last time we were in the 90s was February 26th when we hit 94.

As we head into the evening hours, we remain vigilant for the possibility of severe storms. So far DFW is calm, but storms are developing to the south.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect in Collin County until 7 p.m

A tornado warning is in effect for areas along and east of I-35 until 10 p.m

A weather advisory is issued for Wednesday evening as storms are expected to develop along the dry line and cold front near the I-35 corridor.

Large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible.

A weather warning is issued for Thursday due to the potential for another round of severe storms along the blocked frontal boundary.

The Metroplex is at Level 3, Elevated Risk, with major threats from large hail and damaging winds.

Storms may develop shortly after lunch and move southeast into the evening hours.

On Thursday it will be noticeably cooler behind the cold front, with highs returning to normal and being in the low 80s.

Unfortunately, the chance of rain returns from Saturday evening and increases towards Mother’s Day. It will be a cool holiday with highs in the lower 70s.

The unclear pattern and storm probability will continue into next week.
