Following investigation into the shooting, all lanes of I-880 are reopened

(KRON) — Due to police operations, all southbound lanes of Interstate 880 in Oakland were closed on Thursday afternoon. All lanes have now reopened.

The California Highway Patrol confirmed that a shooting had occurred on Thursday. Police closed the highway to collect evidence and determined that the shooting had occurred on the streets of Oakland.

Oakland police found a victim with a gunshot wound. There is no update on his condition.

The police operation took place in the Oak Street area.
