1 dead and 1 injured in traffic accident in Omaha during commuter traffic on Thursday morning

OMAHA, Nebraska (WOWT) – A woman died and a driver was injured in a crash near downtown Omaha Thursday morning.

Police told 6 News that officers were called to a crash between a Cadillac CTS and a Chevy Camaro at the corner of 20th and St. Marys Avenue around 7:35 a.m. The initial investigation revealed that the Cadillac was traveling westbound on St. Marys Avenue when the cars collided.

Both occupants of the Camaro were taken to Nebraska Medicine. The passenger, 21-year-old Chloe Johnson, died there. The driver, a 22-year-old man, is being treated for a non-life-threatening back injury.

The driver of the Cadillac was uninjured.
