Chief of Kiskiminetas Township Police Department suspended

KISKIMINETAS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) – The chief of the Kiskiminetas Township Police Department has been suspended and an assistant chief has taken his place.

In July 2022, Kiski Police Chief Lee Bartolicius took over the department, which also oversees North Apollo. Almost two years later, he was suspended from his post.

“It makes me think they believe they are above the law. Everyone needs to be punished for what they do wrong, no matter what title they have,” said Armstrong County resident Tammy Brown.

Many, including the Armstrong County District Attorney, are unaware of the circumstances surrounding the police chief’s suspension.

The mayor of North Apollo told KDKA-TV she was informed Wednesday evening that there was a new acting police chief, but she did not provide further details.

This is not the first time the department has been in the spotlight. In July 2022, around the time Bartolicius took office, four officers and the secretary resigned over alleged harassment and intimidation.
