A crash in Weston killed two people Monday, authorities say – NBC Boston

According to authorities, two people died in a fire accident in Weston, Massachusetts on Monday.

The accident occurred on the east side of Route 20, near the intersection, the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release Thursday. Authorities did not disclose Monday when the accident occurred.

According to prosecutors, police received an automated emergency call from an Apple crash detection system in the vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the vehicle engulfed in flames.

Police attempted to extinguish the fire but were unable to do so before firefighters arrived.

The driver, a 20-year-old man, and a 15-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the two people have not been released.

The cause of the accident is currently being investigated, the public prosecutor’s office said.
