One dead in crash involving semi-truck and car in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY, Washington – One person was killed in an accident involving a car and a semi-trailer truck in Federal Way Thursday morning.

It happened on northbound Interstate 5 near South 288th Street.

The Washington State Department of Transportation first reported the accident at around 10:15 a.m.

According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson, the semi-trailer was parked on the shoulder at the time of the accident.

Johnson said motorists should expect the right lane to be closed for some time while police investigate.
