Jamestown police charge three people with weapons offenses

Investigations into two separate incidents in Jamestown on Tuesday involving armed individuals have resulted in threatening charges against three people.

The first incident was reported just after 2:15 p.m. when Jamestown police responded to an address on the city’s west side. When officers arrived, they learned that 29-year-old Katelynn Cornell had taken a black handgun and brought it back into the home. An investigation revealed that Cornell allegedly threatened the victim by pointing the gun at the victim’s head while 35-year-old Michael Lapp stood next to Cornell and mutually intimidated the victim. Officers found a black BB gun in the home. Cornell and Lapp were both arrested without incident and taken to the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment. Cornell was charged with second-degree menacing, while Lapp is charged with third-degree menacing.

In the second incident, Jamestown police were called to an address on the city’s north side just before 5:45 p.m. and found that 21-year-old Anikyn Fuller had allegedly used a black pellet gun that looked like a long gun and pointed it at two different victims. He also allegedly verbally threatened to shoot one of the victims in the face with the gun while pointing it at the victim. Fuller was held in the Jamestown Jail pending charges of two counts of second-degree menacing.
