Retired Chicago police officer killed in West Side shooting

A retired Chicago police officer was shot and killed in West Garfield Park Thursday morning, authorities said.

The 73-year-old was found with numerous gunshot wounds in the 4300 block of West Monroe Street around 11:30 a.m., Chicago police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released.

No arrests were made.
