68-year-old woman killed in Oneida County crash | WIVT

WESTERN, NY (WSYR-TV) — Deborah Gilbert, a 68-year-old Boonville woman, was killed in a traffic accident on Route 46 in the Oneida County town of Western on Wednesday, June 19.

Oneida County Sheriff’s officers arrived at the accident at approximately 11:15 a.m.


They found a pickup truck driven by a 69-year-old Canastota man crashed into the mirror of another vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Forestport man, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man from Canastota then lost control of his pickup truck and collided head-on with Gilbert’s Subaru in Gilbert’s lane.

Gilbert was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was thrown from his pickup truck.

He was flown to Upstate Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The man whose mirror was hit was not injured, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said.

No tickets have been issued or charges filed at this time. The sheriff’s office is still investigating the accident.
