A man is seriously injured in an incident near a roller coaster on Kings Island

MASON, Ohio (WDTN) – A man who entered a restricted area around a roller coaster at Kings Island was struck and seriously injured Wednesday night.

According to a press release from the City of Mason, Mason Police responded to a call regarding the Banshee ride at Kings Island. The unidentified 38-year-old man was in the restricted area surrounding the roller coaster.

A Kings Island spokesman told NBC affiliate WLWT in Cincinnati that the man entered a cordoned off and fenced area near the roller coaster around 8 p.m.

He was taken to UC West Chester and then flown by helicopter to the UC main campus for treatment.

This incident is currently being investigated by the Mason Police Department in coordination with Kings Island.
