Ryan Garcia has announced his retirement from boxing as he faces a long ban.

Following his victory over Devin Haney last month, Garcia tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug Ostarine.

According to Lance Pugmire of Boxing Scene, the New York State Athletic Commission is scheduled to hold a hearing on Friday to determine the length of a possible suspension for Garcia.

Haney on social media that Garcia could face a two-year ban from the sport.

Before the NYSAC hearing, Garcia announced his retirement from boxing on social media.

Garcia claims he wants to become an actor or singer because of the “corruption” in boxing.

Garcia was ridiculed for announcing his resignation just as the NYSAC met to suspend him.
