Police rescue litter of puppies from bag

NEW YORK (WJW) – The New York Police Department has released a video of its officers rescuing a litter of puppies.

According to police, a woman sold the pit bull puppies and had them stored in a hot bag.

The NYPD bodycam video shows officers opening the bag and finding five “sweat-drenched” puppies.

“They’re so hot,” an officer says as the puppies are taken out of the bag. “These dogs could have been dead in five minutes,” he adds.

According to police, officers observed someone trying to buy a puppy on Saturday.

“She asked her, you know, she said, ‘What a nice dog. What a cute puppy. What are you doing with it?’ And she said I’m selling it,” police told FOX 5 New York. “She even said I had the rest in my pocket.”

According to police, the bag was tied up.

“The distressed puppies were rescued before they were seriously injured,” police said said.

Police arrested the woman who sold the puppies on several charges.
