Woman killed in hit-and-run in Hartford – NBC Connecticut

A Massachusetts woman has died after being struck by a driver who fled the scene of an accident in Hartford late Thursday night. Police are now searching for the driver.

At 11:55 p.m., patrol officers responded to Main Street near Tower Avenue on a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian and located the victim, 40-year-old Lutricia Daniels of Chicopee, Massachusetts.

She suffered serious injuries and died at the scene of the accident, police said.

The car that struck Daniels was a red Honda Accord that was traveling south on Main Street after the accident.

State police later found a vehicle matching that description, empty and on fire, on Interstate 384 East near Exit 2.

An investigation is ongoing.
