Illegal immigrant who entered under Biden admits to raping young girl, prosecutors say

An illegal immigrant who entered the U.S. under the Biden administration and was never deported despite an order from a federal immigration judge admitted last week to raping a young girl in New York City, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, 25, was charged with multiple counts this week after a group of Good Samaritans beat him and held him until authorities were able to arrest him early Tuesday. He had been on the run for several days after attacking a 13-year-old girl in Kissena Park in Queens.

The New York Post reported that the Ecuadorian migrant was charged with sexual assault, first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree child abduction, two counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, obstruction of government and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors said in court that Inga-Landi, who entered the United States illegally in 2021, stated during a videotaped confession, “I was nervous at first, but then I relaxed and recorded it.” Assistant District Attorney Kasey Esposito reportedly read the transcript of the videotaped statement.

Inga-Landi told authorities that he encountered two teenagers having “sexual relations” and threatened them with a knife.

The illegal immigrant tied them together, stuffed a headscarf into the girl’s mouth, cut off her shorts and underwear and then raped her.

He then took their phones, ran away and bought drugs, according to prosecutors.

DNA from the crime scene matched a sample that Inga-Landi had given to immigration authorities three years ago, the report said.

His statement that he recorded the rape is still being investigated by authorities, which could lead to numerous other charges.

The New York Post also reported that a federal immigration judge ordered his deportation in February 2022, according to sources at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The report said Inga-Landi entered the U.S. illegally in Eagle Pass, Texas, in June 2021, as part of the unprecedented wave of illegal immigrants pouring into the country under President Joe Biden.

Inga-Landi entered the United States with his son, the report continues. Border officials found them “inadmissible” because “they did not have the necessary papers to stay in the United States. However, for “humanitarian” reasons, they were released with a summons to appear before immigration court.”
