72-year-old man injured in moped accident

WENDELL – A 72-year-old Raleigh man was injured in a moped crash in northern Johnston County. The crash occurred around 3:20 p.m. Sunday on private property in the 3100 block of NC Highway 231, Wendell.

The victim was riding a moped at approximately 30 miles per hour on a private dirt road when the moped overturned and the man was ejected.

He was taken to WakeMed for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
