Air quality alert and more heat on Thursday

Air quality alert and more heat on Thursday

OUR THURSDAY STARTS WITH AN AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FOR TODAY. IT’S AN ORANGE ALERT, OR UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS. SO THOSE WHO HAVE AN ALERT MAY HAVE RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS, LIKE WITH ASTHMA OR EMPHYSEMA. YOU SHOULD LIMIT YOUR TIME OUTSIDE TODAY, ESPECIALLY WITH ANY STRENUOUS ACTIVITY. FOR THE LAST FOUR DAYS WE HAVE BEEN AT OR ABOVE 90 DEGREES, WE HAVE REACHED EXACTLY 90 DEGREES. YESTERDAY’S 90 DEGREE HEAT WILL CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS WELL. AND WHILE IT WILL REMAIN DRY FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS, THERE IS A CHANCE OF A STORM. NEXT WILL BE SUNDAY. THE SECOND HALF OF OUR WEEKEND WILL NOT BE IN THE BETTING BUT WE WILL AT LEAST HAVE A FEW COOLING RAIN SCORES AS NUMBERS ARE A LITTLE LOWER THAN YESTERDAY’S. IN THE ALI INTERNATIONAL METRO SUBURBS WE ARE AT 77. MORE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE TEMPERATURES WE SEE AT BOWMAN FIELD WITH 71, IN SELLERSBURG WITH THE 60S AT CLARK COUNTY AIRPORT AND 68, RIGHT ON 70 IN FORT KNOX AND ELIZABETHTOWN. AS YOU PLAN YOUR DAY, THE SKIES WHICH ARE MOSTLY CLOUDY AT THE MOMENT WILL BECOME PARTLY CLOUDY IN THE AFTERNOON. THAT’S THE DIFFERENCE FROM YESTERDAY WHEN WE WERE MORE CLOUDY INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS AND OUR TEMPERATURES WERE LOW. WELL. NOW, WITH MORE SUNSHINE, WE WILL HAVE A HOT, DRY 94 TEMPERATURE IN THE AFTERNOON. A CALM BUT WARM EVENING IS AHEAD. BEAUTIFUL SKIES. AT 10:00 AM WE WILL STILL BE 87 TEMPERATURES. TOMORROW AND SATURDAY WE WILL REACH HIGHS OF 97 TEMPERATURES, SO WE ARE REALLY STARTING TO REACH SOME OF THE HEAT WE’VE HAD SO FAR THIS WEEK. AS WE RUN OUT THE WEEK AND START THE WEEKEND, YOU CAN SEE ALL THE WARM AIR FROM THE CENTRAL PLAIN SOUTH TO THE EAST COAST, AND THE COOLER AIR IN THE NORTHWEST JUST IS NOT MOVING. WE WILL BE SEEING SOME OF THE RAIN AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IN THE NORTH AND WEST IN A FLASH. THAT’S WHAT WILL BE GETTING A LITTLE CLOSER TO US BY SUNDAY. BUT AGAIN, WE’RE NOT TALKING ABOUT A CHANCE OF RAIN OR EVEN FLOODING. IT’S MAINLY GOING TO BE SOME DISTRIBUTED RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS AS WE MOVE INTO THE AFTERNOON AND EVEN ON YOUR SUNDAY. IT’S SOME NEEDED RAINFALL, THAT’S FOR SURE. BECAUSE OF THE GREAT HEAT, THE YARDS, THE GARDENS, WILL BE CRISPY, 97 TOMORROW AND SATURDAY. STILL 95, EVEN WITH THAT RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS CHANCE. SUNDAY, MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY, WE’LL KEEP THOSE 90S, INCLUDING WEDNESDAY, WITH ANOTHER CHANCE OF SOME AFTERNOON RAIN AND STORMS. WE WILL AGAIN WATCH FOR THOSE WEATHER IMPACTS WITH THE NEEDED DOWNPOURS AND WE WILL KEEP AN EYE ON ANY THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. BU
