Houston Dynamo FC and Seattle Sounders FC draw 2-2 in thrilling match

In a thrilling encounter at Shell Energy Stadium, Houston Dynamo FC and Seattle Sounders FC drew 2-2. Dynamo midfielder Latif Blessing put in an outstanding performance, scoring both of his team’s goals.

During the match, Blessing opened the scoring in the 30th minute, capitalizing on a Seattle turnover. Striker Amine Bassi delivered a precise cross from the right side of the penalty area, allowing Blessing to confidently finish for his fourth goal of the season. This followed his spectacular 89th minute equalizer in Atlanta last Saturday.

Blessing doubled his tally in the 39th minute, heading in Aliyu Ibrahim’s cross to score his fifth goal of the season.

Seattle responded in the 57th minute when Paul Rothrock took advantage of a loose ball in Houston’s final third. Although goalkeeper Steve Clark saved Rothrock’s first attempt, the rebound ended up in the net.

Seattle equalized in the 63rd minute thanks to a set piece by Albert Rusnak, who found Jackson Ragen at the far post, who calmly slotted the ball home.

Houston captain Héctor Herrera tested Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei with a long-range shot in the 17th minute, but Frei made a comfortable save. Defender Griffin Dorsey also had a notable attempt in the 53rd minute, breaking away from the halfway line and firing a shot just wide of the far post.

In the 65th minute, midfielder Artur almost regained the lead for Houston with a powerful shot from outside the box, which narrowly missed the target. Bassi’s attempt in the 75th minute was blocked, but the rebound fell to striker Sebastian Kowalczyk, who forced another save from Frei.
